Saara Vuola is a Finnish director and photographer based between Rome and Helsinki.

She documents real-life moments; challenging documentary photography, documentary filmmaking and wedding photography traditions with an intimate gaze and textured voice. She creates worlds rich in naturality and storytelling – be it through the medium of photography, filmmaking, writing or a ceramics object.

In filmmaking, Saara is most known for 'honeybutter', a poetry film written by IFTA-nominated Irish actress Eleanor O'Brien. Films she has either directed or worked as cinematographer hae been screened internationally at Richard Harris International Film Festival, Ireland | Realasian Film Festival, Canada | Girls in Film, online | Venezia Short Film Festival, Italy | Korean Film Festival, Canada | Lapinlahti Film Festival, Finland 


Commissioned photography for Bay Studios, Angelica Capri, Studio Savilla, Tara Junker, Emma Ranne, Nokonen, Triangolo Ischia, GEMMA; and cover photos for Emmi-Liia Sjöholm's book 'Kaskaat'.
